Depression and Anxiety
Depression affects 1 in 10 adults. “Mood disorder”, which includes depression and bipolar disorder now affects approximately 20.9 million American adults or 9.5 percent of the population.
This number jumps up when it comes to anxiety disorder such as panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder or social phobia. Over 40 million American adults ages 18 and older suffer from an Anxiety Disorder.
What can people do who suffer from either depression or anxiety? There are a number of resources available now to help people understand what it is they are feeling. These resources also help the sufferers loved ones understand the disorder.
If you know somebody who suffers from depression or anxiety, you can help them by giving them as much information available so that they can make educated choices on how to best address their problems.
